About The Cancer Project

Janet McKee is a Representative of The Cancer ProjectThe Cancer Project is a non-profit organization founded by Dr. Neal Barnard and is based out of Washington DC.

The Cancer Project's mission is to advance cancer prevention and survival through nutrition education and research. With over one million people being diagnosed with cancer in the United States each year, there is an urgent need for a new direction in battling the disease. For many years, researchers have been investigating how food choices affect cancer. What they have discovered is nothing short of dramatic.

Research from the National Cancer Institute shows that as much as 50% of cancer risk may be related to food. Our goal at The Cancer Project is to translate these scientific findings into simple and practical steps by creating books, informational pamphlets and by offering Food for Life Nutrition and Cooking Class Series to help sharetheir findings with the public.
